The Antlers High School Cheerleaders went to Durant on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 to support the Antlers Special Olympics Team.
The cheerleaders helped to liven up the participants spirits and helped to get them ready for action by doing silly hair and headbands for anyone who wanted it done.
This is the first of many community service activities that the Antlers Cheerleaders have planned.
On Wednesday, April 6, 2011 the Antlers High School Girls Golf Team hosted a golf tournament at the Antlers Springs Golf Course just outside of Antlers. Schools from around the area traveled to take part in this event. Some of the schools attending included Haworth, Valliant, Broken Bow, Allen, Pittsburg, Coalgate and Antlers.
U.S. Congressman Dan Boren met with General Ann E. Dunwoody, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), recently in his Washington D.C. office.Â AMC is one of the largest commands in the Army with more than 66,000 employees and an impact or presence in 48 states and 127 countries.Â
AMC is the Army command that oversees the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (McAAP) in eastern Oklahoma.Â Congressman Boren also currently serves as the Democrat Co-Chair for the Military Depot and Industrial Facilities Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives.
