On July 2, 2012, Bryan Ross Council, a 27 year old male from Antlers, was charged with Burglary in the first degree, Aggravated assault and battery, two counts of Assault with a dangerous weapon and Domestic assault and battery by strangulation.
On June 30, 2012, Council broke into an Antlers residence being occupied by Terri Bridges. According to reports, Council forcibly entered the front door by kicking it in without the permission of Bridges.
Council also assaulted Bridges with a claw hook weapon and strangled her with his hands in an attempt to cause her great bodily harm.
On July 3, 2012, a search warrant was served on the residence of Howard Harty, a 70 year old white male of Ringold, by Drug Task Force Officer B.J. Hedgecock and Pushmataha County Sheriff Deputies John Arthur and Culver. When officers entered the residence no subjects were present in the residence.
Roy Earl Jackson was born December 13, 1930 in Antlers to Roy and Nora Mae (Labor) Jackson. He passed from this life July 8, 2012 in Paris, TX, at the age of 81. Roy served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a car salesman in Antlers for many years, owning Jackson Motors. He married Bernice Thomas on August 19, 2000 at Antlers First Baptist Church. He had served on the City Council since 1988 and was the Mayor of Antlers for 19 years.
Joseph George Malakowsky was born October 13, 1947 in Longview, WA., to Harvey and Geraldine (Guyon) Malakowsky. He passed from this life July 5, 2012 in Plano, TX., at the age of 64. Joseph married Barbara Ann Edwards October 10, 1969 in Murphy, TX. Joseph served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Korean War as a Seargent First Class (E-7). During his military career, he served as a Drill Seargent, on the Tunnel Team DMZ, instructor at West Pointe and as an advisor for the national guard.
Cathie Laverne Loftin was born on November 23, 1942 to the late Dorothy (Walker) and Vernon Robbins in Black Fork, OK. She passed from this life on Monday, July 2, 2012 in Garland, TX., at the age of 69. Cathie was from the Nashoba area, but passed in Garland where she spent her last few weeks with her daughter. She was a very classy lady. She loved to cook but loved to eat it even more. She was a wonderful mother to her two daughters Robbi Dawn and Cathie Dale. She loved being a nanny. Cathie loved life. She liked to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Charlotte Lorriane Powell, 52, of Antlers, passed from this life on Friday, June 29, 2012. Charlotte was born January 20, 1960 in New Orleans, LA. to Charlotte Anna (Scallen) and Fredrick James Simolke. She was a heavy equipment operator. She was preceded in death by: Her Father. She is survived by: her mother, Charlotte Anna Simolke of Bogota, TX.; daughter, Christina Michelle Davis of Hope, AR.; Grandchildren, Katrina Powell of Prescott, AR.
