Four lives were claimed in Grant on Sunday night after a vehicle failed to yield and pulled out in front of another vehicle.
The fatality collision took place one mile west of Grant on HWY 271 in Choctaw County at approximately 9:00 p.m.
What happened, according to the OHP Trooperâ€™s report, was that vehicle 1, being operated by Celina E. Pereze-Landeros of Dallas, T.X., was headed south on 271 when vehicle 2, which was heading east failed to yield and pulled out in front of vehicle 1. Vehicle 2 was being operated by Rodney R. Sutterfield of Antlers.
On Thursday the LadyCats had a rough start in the tournament losing to
Rattan moving them to the loser's bracket. They came back strong in their
next 2 games that afternoon winning back to back against Soper and Valliant
II. The ladies returned on Friday defeating Wright City to move back up
into the winner's bracket.
The First Baptist Church in Antlers has been burglarized for the third time in less than two years, but now two of the three parities being charged with the crime are in custody.
Tarron Horner, Savanna Wilson and Cody Leeper, who has yet to be taken into custody, are being charged for the crime.
The First Baptist youth director stated that he came in Sunday, March 30th to find that the sound equipment, keyboards and TV monitors had been stolen.
In an effort to relax certain laws, an ordinance was passed at the last Antlers City council meeting to remove the city code in place since 2009 that banned pocket knives. However, an important subsection was left out by the Council which kept pocket knives illegal.
"We messed up when we filed it originally. We left out an important subsection which would allow pocket knives. We had a meeting yesterday and corrected this issue making it legal to carry pocket knives in the City of Antlers" said City of Antlers Mayor Mike Burrage.
The Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office K9 will be receiving a ballistic vest/s thanks to a nationwide GROUPON EVENT that has raised over $335,000.00.
The City of Antlers will experience a temporary water outage on Thursday, March 20th, from 10:00 p.m. until approximately 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21st.
City workers will be shutting off the water to work on and fix local water leaks.
