Locals urged to use caution

June 5, 2014

This massive alligator was discovered last week in Pushmataha County. Land owners, Herbert and Polly Taylor's son, Joel Taylor, found this roughly 8-9 ft alligator on his parents property located in the Finley area. Due to how the waterways connect, locals are urged to pay attention when enjoying summer recreation in local bodies of water. Little Cedar Creek, which runs in the Finley area, connects to the Kiamichi River, which in turn feeds into many other bodies of water, including Hugo Lake. Just remember, where there is one there could be more.
