The Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office K9 will be receiving a ballistic vest/s thanks to a nationwide GROUPON EVENT that has raised over $335,000.00.

Antlers to be without water tonight

March 19, 2014

The City of Antlers will experience a temporary water outage on Thursday, March 20th, from 10:00 p.m. until approximately 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21st.
City workers will be shutting off the water to work on and fix local water leaks.

Run-off election draws near

March 19, 2014

The run-off election for the open seat on Antlers School Board will take place April 1, 2014. The two candidates who will be going head to head to claim the position are Robert Bowman and John Wood.
Both candidates received high votes in the initial election but neither secured enough to be named to this position.
Early voting will take place on the Thursday and Friday before, March 27th and 28th, from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Election Board.

Verna Everett

Verna Lou Everett, 82, of Broken Bow, OK went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2014 at Broken Bow. She was born September 2, 1931 at Broken Bow, OK, the daughter of C.W. and Eva (Smith) Hutchison. Verna had lived in Broken Bow for the past fourteen years, moving from Antlers, OK. She worked in many different positions at the Antlers Nursing Home for many years. She also worked as a personal care giver and was the Director of Antlers Day Care for many years. A devout Christian, Verna was affiliated with the Hochatown Assembly of God Church.

Tina Greenwood

Tina Lynn Greenwood, 76, of Antlers, Oklahoma passed from this life Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Paris, Texas.
Tina was born August 22, 1937 in Lubbock, Texas to Benjamin Franklin and Annie Beatrice (Grace) Hunt. Tina was very devoted to family, she took pride in raising her five children and she adored her grandchildren. Tina was strong willed, she loved being outdoors, animals and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Jack Greenwood, sons; Jack Reed and Wayne Reed, brothers; Elwood Culbert and J.E.

Garnett Metcalf

March 19, 2014

Garnett "Katie" Metcalf born on June 10, 1929, passed from this world on March 5, 2014. Many friends and family will be there to welcome her in heaven. Katie was born in California and spent most of her time on the West coast. At the time of her passing she considered Antlers, Oklahoma, to be her home. 

She loved to travel and always looked forward to her Wednesday lunches at the Choctaw Senior Citizen Center where she enjoyed the company of friends and family.

Circus to take place this weekend

The Kelly Miller Bros. Circus, founded during the Depression, is making another milestone this year as it celebrate its seventy sixth anniversary. Founded in 1938 by Obert Miller and his sons, Kelly and Dores, this traditional tented circus has seen the passing of the millennium and still offers the same great family entertainment it presented in its humble beginnings.
