July 11th, 2013
The annual 4th of July Picnic was a success. Over 100 people attended. It was quite a pleasant gathering. The weather was definitely co-operating. The good was good. Our chef, Meryl Redman, did a superb job as usual. I say, âas usual,â because Meryl has cooked for all of our July 4th picnics. A special thanks to the ladies on the serving line. Larry Joslin and I were the speakers. Even Jim Calhoun got in a few words. If you missed it, donât miss it next year.
Pushmataha County residents littered the sides of the roadway, parking lots and side streets last night as they came out to Moyers to enjoy their annual fireworks display.
Residents were pleasantly surprised but the magnitude and beauty of this yearâs display.
âI have been coming to this show for years and this is the best one I have seen since I moved here,â one resident said.
Another stated, âSimply beautiful! And them playing the Star Spangled Banner during the grand finale was the icing on the cake!â
Over the weekend the Antlers Police Department responded to a call about a woman who had shoplifted beer for Jim Rayâs Quick Stop in Antlers.
Upon officer arrival, Officer Stewart Stanfield made contact with a blond female who was sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle. Officer Stanfield also noticed eight cans of Keystone in the back seat that were well in reach of the female.
The female identified herself as Tosha Dillishaw, who is also known as Tosha McPherson, a 28 year old white female of Antlers.
