Monday, March 21, 2011 the Antlers Board of Adjustments held a public hearing at the Antlers City Hall at 5:00 p.m. This meeting was to hear a request from Pine Telephone Co., Inc., out of Broken Bow, who were asking for a special exception from Antlers City Codes to allow a cellular antenna tower, of less than 200 feet, to be constructed in a commercial business district at 412 S.W. âCâ Street in Antlers.
The Girl Scouts are facing bullying head on as they use their âPowered Up: Doing Nothing? Not an Option!â program in local schools. This 8 week program started in the Antlers Intermediate School (Vegher) on February 28th and has been held every Monday from 2:15-3:00 p.m. (except for spring break week).
Kealey Standridge, student at Antlers High School, has officially won the District Essay competition for the VFWâs âVoice of Democracyâ Essay contest, for the 3rd year in a row. This essay contest is an annual contest which the VFW (Veterans of Foreign War) puts on as a scholarship program.
âWe are as proud of this girl as we can be,â said Mr. Neil Kimberland, member of the VFW. âIt is students like her who help us have big hopes for the future.â
