American Cancer Society Seeks Volunteers for Local Relay For Life Event

As you consider how you can make a difference in the coming year, consider joining the fight against cancer by volunteering for Relay For Life, an event that benefits the American Cancer Society’s mission to eliminate cancer. Volunteer positions are still available, and more information about these volunteer opportunities will be provided at the next Relay For Life planning meeting on February 2nd, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the AmeriState Conference Room in Antlers.
On Wednesday, January 4, 2012, Rattan Public School welcomed a new superintendent to their administration team, Mrs. Shari Pillow. Mrs. Pillow came to us from Comanche County in Southwestern Oklahoma, where she had lived all of her life. After her and her husband Bobby purchased a place close to Rattan, she heard about Rattan’s previous superintendent, Bruce Lawless’s, retirement.
 Press Release-Pushmataha Hospital is starting off the new year by saving lives through blood donation with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). All healthy adults, 16 and older,* are encouraged to donate blood from Noon to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, January 17, in the Hospital’s new multipurpose room. Blood donors at the Pushmataha Hospital blood drive will receive an OBI ice scraper and free health screenings.
