Have we become a society that is too busy for gift wrap? When a birthday arrives or the holidays come around in full force, where do most people turn? To the ultra-convenient gift bag, that's where.
Gift bags have largely taken over the party aisles at most stores, where rows and rows of gift bags in all shapes and sizes are not uncommon. If you're trying to find a roll of wrapping paper, good luck. For birthdays, anniversaries and even baby showers, paper designs have essentially become obsolete.
Even though the first decade of the 21st century witnessed a change in how nearly everyone acquires and listens to music, some things about music -- especially holiday music -- may never change. According to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the following 25 songs were the most performed holiday songs of the first decade of the 21st century. The date was compiled with the aide of Mediaguide, the most comprehensive digital audio performance tracking technology in the world.
1. Winter Wonderland - Eurythmics.
Families across the globe cherish their Christmas traditions. Customs may be unique to every family, but many countries boast their own unique traditions as well.
* Australia: Many Australians celebrate Christmas by coming together at night to sing carols outside. That's not as chilly as it might sound, as Christmas in Australia actually falls during summer vacation. In fact, many of the country's most popular Christmas traditions occur outside.
Pushmataha County has been chosen to receive $3,939 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
County youth who intend, or are interested in showing livestock at the 2013 Pushmataha County Junior Livestock Show must have those animals at the Pushmataha County Fairgrounds in Antlers on Thursday, Dec. 13, between 2:00 and 6:00 PM.

After several reported burglaries in the area of Main Street and N.E. “B”. Deputy James Marzek was patrolling the area when he noticed two individuals walking in the area at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012.
Deputy Marzek stopped the individuals, one male and one female, and did a check to see if any local warrants existed for the two. Both individuals came back clear. The female was identified as Brandi Messer and the male was Patrick Davis.
After at least 80 years of service, the old arch rock bridge just north of Jumbo in northern Pushmataha County has been finally been retired and a new structure is almost complete.
According to research, the rock bridge spanning Ten Mile Creek has been in continuous service since 1932, although a local historian puts the construction date back as far as 1923. When the bridge was first built, it include rock side rails, a favorite place for many children in the area to gather and throw rocks into the creek below.

As Deputy Shawn Culver approached HWY 271 and Old HWY 271, he noticed a blue Chevy pickup stopped in the middle of the road. As the deputy got closer the vehicle began to move and turned, failing to use a turn signal. Culver followed the vehicle and as he did so he noticed that he was unable to read part of the vehicle’s tag. Culver stopped the vehicle.

At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Antlers City Council on Monday, December 3, 2012, Antlers Fire Chief Randy Janoe addressed the council about the possible closing of the Antlers EMS services.
Chief Janoe explained to the Council that there was a new contractor handling Medicare claims for the area and they had implemented some changes last week to reinforce a preexisting rule about mileage for ambulance services and payment.
