April 12th
These fourth and fifth graders that attend Antlers Public Schools have collected a total of $1,273.00 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital by participating in the St. Jude's Mathathon. Antlers High School students competed at the Southeastern Oklahoma State University curriculum contest on March 29th. Individual rankings by student: Logan Curtis placed 1st in Microsoft Excel, Brittney Kazy placed 1st in Art-Figure Drawing I, Caleb Harrington placed 1st in Physical Science, Kelsee Schier placed 1st in Plane Geometry, John Ables placed 2nd in Integrated Productivity Software, and Morgan Spurlock placed 3rd in English II. Senior students who placed first earn a $300 tuition waiver, second place $200 tuition waiver, and third $100 tuition waiver.

On Friday, March 30, 2012 the Pushmataha County Commissioners were presented with a check for $100,000 from the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management for bridge repair and low-water crossings that were flooded in November of 2011. Pushmataha County Turning Point Coalition
A collaborative effort and collective vision among community partners has become a reality. The Antlers Walking Trail âBig Peopleâs Parkâ is close to completion. The City of Antlers, in partnership with the Pushmataha County Turning Point Coalition, has successfully created an outdoor fitness facility to be enjoyed by all.
With the economy reeking havoc on the mass majority of businesses and families across the nation, it is no wonder that nonprofit organizations are feeling the crunch as well. They rely on generous donations and gifts from the residents of their community and surrounding areas to stay afloat. With the financial restraints of higher gas prices, food costs and so forth, donations have slowed for one of our own local non-profits.
Kids from Antlers, Moyers, Clayton and Rattan Schools took center stage in the fight against tobacco as they joined together for Pushmataha Countyâs 7th Annual Kick Buttâs Day. Kick Buttâs Day took place from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29th on the corner of Main and High Street (in front of FirstBank) in Antlers. Not only was this day represented in Pushmataha County, but more than 1,100 events were planned across the nation.
