The courageous acts of a local 12 year old has many calling her a hero. Amy Maxey, a 6th grader at Antlers Middle School, saved her mother from a viscous dog attack, which many believe would have claimed her life.
Southeastern Oklahoma residents will have an opportunity to learn about the pending Sardis Lake lawsuit at an educational town hall forum that will take place on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Molina’s Mexican Restaurant in Antlers.
Hosted by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Legal Foundation, the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and AFR, the meeting is intended to provide general background information on the lawsuit. The event is not a political forum but instead an education forum organized to explain the lawsuit’s legal process and how the filing will impact citizens’ water rights.
The City of Antlers would like to announce that opening day for the Antlers City Pool will be Friday, June 1st. The pool will be open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday, and hours of operation will be 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Lifeguards will be on duty at all times. Each lifeguard is Red Cross Certified in life-saving and CPR.
Admission will be $3.00 per person per day. Please note: All infants and children in diapers must wear Little Swimmer’s Diapers. No Exceptions!
