The Pushmataha County Health Department announced its seasonal influenza vaccination clinic schedule for the upcoming flu season. Clinics will begin on October 7th & 15th, according to Pushmataha County Health Department Administrative Director Jerry Pat Fowler.
â€śFlu can be a dangerous disease for people of all ages, even healthy children and adults,â€ť said Tara Tedder, Immunization Field Consultant. â€śWe encourage everyone to protect themselves and their families by getting their annual flu shot and we want to remind the public that the flu vaccine cannot give you the flu.â€ť
A wellness program for cancer survivors
This program is an 8 week wellness program designed for adult cancer survivors (men and women) who are looking to reduce the severity of therapy side effects, preventing unwanted weight changes and improving energy levels and self-esteem.
Push Against Cancer is a program where survivors are able to meet with a Certified Fitness Trainer/Cancer Survivor twice a week to develop a program that includes strength training, cardiovascular conditioning and stretching/relaxation components.
An Antlers woman is currently in the Tulsa County jail after officers discovered nearly 50 counterfeit $100.00 bills in her vehicle.
According to reports, the police were called to Hobby Lobby on 71st Street in Tulsa to respond to a disturbance in the store.
Amanda Marie White, 38, attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill and was handcuffed and escorted to the store's office to wait on the police.
The Food Bank in Antlers, provided by the First Baptist Church, got broken into last week as individual(s) used butter knives to get in one of the windows. According to Pastor Aaron Reed, they also tried to break into the Youth Center by damaging the door knob but a dead bolt stopped them.
The food bank at the First Baptist Church, in Antlers, supplies between 250 and 300 families with food every month, something Pastor Reed is very proud of, but if individuals continue to try to and successfully break into the facility they may be forced to shut the doors.
