Rosamond Henderson Park was born August 12, 1933 in Jumbo,to Harvey L. and Rosie N. (Maxey) Napier. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2012 in Dallas, TX., at the age of 79. Rose spent many years as the owner/operator of a wholesale jewelry company. She was a Realtor for Remax in Garland, TX., for several years prior to retiring. She had a flair for dress and loved bright colors and jewelry. While residing at Atria Assisted Living in Richardson, her friends often commented on her sharp dress and style. Rose had a keen sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Jesse Carl Joslin was born October 29, 1957 in Antlers. He passed from this life on October 18, 2012 in Wichita, KS. âCarlâ is survived by Beloved Companion of 17 years Myra Belle Sorrell of the Home; son, Rev. John Jerome Werner of Boardman, OH, Sisters: Sally (Mike) Andrews, Pixie Wilson, Sarah (Randy)Westbrook and Brother Dennis Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews as well and other extended family members. He was proceeded in death by Mother, Anna Pearl Wilson, Step-Father, Clifton Wilson.
John Calvin Cockrill, 73, of Idabel passed from this life on October 7, 2012. He was born the youngest son of Calvin and Melvie Watson-Cockrill near Antlers. He lived in the Redland community at the time if his death. John was married to Nina Sure Henson-Cockrill on December 9, 1957. John and Nina have four children: Johnnie Sue Cockrill-Hill of Broken Bow; Nancy Cockrill-Worley of Prosper, TX.; Cindy Cockrill of Prosper, TX., Cindy Cockrill of Frisco, TX.; and Jeremy Cockrill of Frisco, TX. Nina proceeded him in death leaving their children to cherish his memory.
BenJo Hotubbee,80, of Wilburton, passed from this life on September 20, 2012. Ben was born in Buffalo Valley on August 17, 1932, the son of the late Allen and Ruthie (Hokit) Hotubbee of Yanish. On August 20, 1955 he married Marvelleen Bankston. After loosing his first wife, Ben found love again with Jan Whitten of Wilburton. They married in October 1996 in Antlers. God called Ben from the oil fields of West Texas into the ministry in 1971. After being ordained, Ben moved his family to Otter Creek. Four years later he followed Godâs call to Mt.
Gertie Nash was born in Pickens, OK, to Mary and Andy McFarlin. She passed from this life peacefully on September 13, 2012, surrounded by loved ones at the home of her daughter in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Nash, and her brothers Tony McFarlin and Willie Nelson. She is survived by her daughter Vadare Cornelison; Grand-daughter Carol and husband Monty Flynn, all of Albuquerque., NM; Great-grandsons Luc Flynn, Lyon France; Step-sons, Richard Nash, CA., Bob Nash, AR; Nephew Al Nelson of Rattan, and other nieces and nephews.
Christine (Ashford) Ives,81, born December 9, 1930 in Antlers to Sam and Ethel (Sexton) Ashford, passed from this life on September 18, 2012. Christine was born, lived and educated in Antlers until 1947 when she moved to OKC with her parents. She proudly graduated from Central High School OKC (Class of â49). After attending Draughonâs business school she was employed by the Veterans Administration and at Tinker AFB. She (and husband Charley) retired from federal civil service at 35 years. She worked as a clerk, secretary and computer operation in Tinker Data Services.
Funeral services for Suzanne Throne, 77, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Steve DeShazo and Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Thronepassed from this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her home. She was born January 28, 1935 in Ada, to P. L. and Pearl Neal Gassaway of Coalgate. She attended schools in Midway, Atoka, and Antlers. She attended East Central University in Ada. She married Bill Bussell of Antlers in 1951. Three daughters were born to them, Belinda Lee, Jenne Beth and Rebecca.
Trevor Pallen, 12,of Spencerville, passed from this life on September 16, 2012 in Hugo. Trevor Shane Pallen was born November 2, 1999 in Oklahoma City, and had lived all of his life in the Choctaw County area. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dean Freeman and Zack Pallen and great grandparents, Bill Cooper, Herman Trapp and Eddie Woodruff. He was a seventh grade student at Ft. Towson Public Schools and had also attended Rattan School and Hugo School. Trevor enjoyed making people laugh, loved playing with his brothers and sisters, and loved hunting, fishing and riding horses.
James âLeonâ Hale was born to James âFredâ Hale and Nadine Hale on September 4, 1951 in Rio Arriba, NM. He passed from this life on Monday, September 3, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 60. Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, playing his guitar, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his dog, âLady.â His family and friends will always remember him as being the jokester of the family.
