Jack Truston Cantrell was born November 15, 1988 in Ingleside, TX., to Helen Sacred-Horsesghost and the late Joe M. Cantrell. He passed from this life suddenly on May 7, 2012 at the age of 23. He spent most of his young life in Oklahoma before he moved to Colorado where he worked as a skilled laborer at NCI Moving and Storage. Jack was a gift to us all. He was a loving and respected son, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed.
Audrey Lydia Lember was born August 14, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA., to Frank A. and Mabel (Fraser) Williams. She passed from this life on May 16, 2012 in Paris, TX, at the age of 86. Audrey married Charles Robert Lember on September 4, 1946 at the Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, CA., and together they raised three children. Audrey worked for Ducommon, a distributor of metals, during World War II. She later worked for Sanyo in the Marketing Department. Audrey was a member of the Rainbow Girls, and she enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and bicycling.
Lela G. Taylor was born June 3, 1913 in Tulsa to Christopher and Cora (Moss) Quaid. She passed from this life May 10, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 98. Lela had been a resident of the Antlers area for many years. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, & gardening, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Lela was preceded in death by her husband: L. A. Taylor; daughter: Janell (Taylor) Hall; and parents: Christopher & Cora Quaid. She is survived by her son: Minal Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; as well as many friends.
Rebecca Pearl Noah was born February 9, 1917 in Finley, to Josephus M. and Rena Pearl (Miller) Sherred. She passed from this life May 3, 2012 in Antlers, at the age of 95. Rebecca was married to Webster Noah until his passing on August 25, 1993. She worked in many different positions, working as a seamstress, and she was also employed at the Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester, until she earned her Master's Degree in Education. Rebecca spent her entire teaching career as an elementary teacher at the Teec Nos Pos Boarding School in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, working there until her retirement.
Homer Leon âBullyâ Flatt was born November 8, 1923 in Caleokie, TX., to Lewis and Betsy (Jaw) Flatt. He passed from this life May 1, 2012 in Antlers at the age of 88. Bully served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper during World War II. He married Clara E. Potts in Durant 41 years ago. Bully had been a resident of the Southeastern Oklahoma area for the past 32 years and was a member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion. He was of the Non-Denominational faith and was a cattle rancher who enjoyed horses and horse auctions, playdays, racing cars, and his dogs.
James Hershell Daniels was born October 21, 1922 in Dela to David Franklin and Dessie (Kee) Daniels. He passed from this life May 4, 2012 in Talihina at the age of 89. James served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Storekeeper Third Class. He later married Joyce Luvenia Underwood July 8, 1946 in Paris, TX. James was a member of Finley Baptist Church, the VFW, and he enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and especially harassing the kids. James was preceded in death by his parents: David & Dessie Daniels; two brothers: Arthur Daniels, Cornelius Daniels.
E.D. Nation, fondly known as âCowboy,â was born October 23, 1931, in Miller to Elisha Dyer Nation and Victoria Pauline (Parker) Nation. He passed from this life April 27, 2012, in Antlers at the age of 80. E.D. enjoyed friends and coffee. He raised cattle and horses and liked to tinker. He ran Playday and the Rodeo for Pushmataha County, was on the Fair Board, Masonic Lodge 32nd degree, and attended First Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. E.D.
Shirley Jean Clark-McBride was born January 27, 1957 in Hugo to Argle James and Charlene (Breedlove) Clark. She passed from this life April 30, 2012 in Oklahoma City at the age of 55. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Antlers area. She had worked for the Antlers Manor Nursing Home as Housekeeper & Laundry Supervisor for over 20 years. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but especially loved being with her grandkids. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents: Argle & Charlene Clark; brother: Allen Clark; sisters: Connie Lynn Clark and Susan Renae Clark.
