Joyce Marie Mullin

Joyce Marie Mullin was born April 8, 1934 in Moyers and spent most of her life in the Neosho area.  Joyce passed from this life on August 25, 2011 at Freeman West Hospital, following a lengthy illness at the age of 77. She was a homemaker, loved to cook and can and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and Silvermoon Full Gospel Church.  She married Wallace D. Thrasher, who preceded her in death and then married Arthur J. Mullin on Nov. 12, 1966 in Neosho, MO., and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1988.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Bill L.

Veneda Beatrice Latham

Veneda Beatrice Latham was born November 6, 1923 in Bokchito to Jesse James and Jewel (Hamlin) McCarty. She passed from this life August 30, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 87. Veneda had been a member of Darwin Baptist Church for many years. She married William David Latham in 1955. Veneda enjoyed caring for her family & cooking, especially for large holiday gatherings. She loved to sew and made most of her own clothes and several items for her friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed taking a drive and doing some local traveling with her family.

Edna Mae Blackwell

Edna Mae Blackwell was born October 28, 1939 in Miller, to Lloyd and Dora Mae (Cochran) Orm. She passed from this life August 20, 2011 in Owasso, at the age of 71. Edna married Bill McGuire on July 31, 1955. They were married until his passing on November 20, 1982. Edna married again, to Druce Blackwell, on May 5, 1984 in Antlers. They remained married until he too passed away in Waldron, Arkansas in 1995. Edna graduated from Professional Seamstress School, and she was a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church of Charleston, South Carolina.

Stephen Todd Higby

Stephen Todd Higby was born October 19, 1963 in Benton, AR., to Robert and Sharon (Henningsen) Higby. He passed from this life August 14, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 47. Todd and Joyce Martinez had been married for over 24 years, and they had lived in the Antlers area for the past 17 years. Todd enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an active participant of the local Boy Scouts. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Nancy Sue Cook

Nancy Sue Melton Cook passed from this life on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the age of 69. She was born on December 17, 1941 in Della to the late James and Edna Mae (Denton) Melton. Sue married Douglas Alton Cook on June 21, 1963. She was a member of the Rebekahs, where she held several offices in Texas and Nevada and was a flag bearer at a national convention.

Comilla Lindly Clay

Comilla Lindly Clay was born January 26, 1946 in (downtown) Cloudy to O.J. and Adell (Fails) Lindly. She passed from this life August 12, 2011 in Sobol at the age of 65. She grew up in the Rattan area, where she graduated from high school. Comilla married Howard Clay on March 28, 1964 in Paris, TX. When Howard was stationed in Bad Hersfeld, West Germany, during 1969 & 1970, he and Comilla loved to travel all over the country and surrounding Europe on their weekends. She always insisted they travel the back roads, creating opportunities to meet new people and enjoy unique towns and villages.

Talion Jared Nelson

Talion Jared Nelson was born June 8, 1971 in Hugo to Terry & Arline Nelson. He passed from this life at his home in Tulsa surrounded by his family at the age of 40 years. Talion was raised in Antlers and was a graduate of Antlers High School, class of 1989.  Talion started his working career at the First Bank of Antlers while attending high school.  Upon moving to Oklahoma City he began working  for Hertz International.   He then made a move to AOL where he was the General Manager of Operations for many years.

Harvey Daniel Joslin

Harvey Daniel Joslin was born May 6, 1937 in Snow to Clarence and Lois (Noland) Joslin. He passed from this life August 10, 2011 in McAlester at the age of 74. Harvey grew up in Joslin Valley riding and hunting in the canyons and mountains and fishing and swimming in Caney and Cedar Creeks. This is the country he loved. Harvey married Patricia Sanders on June 27, 1958 in Hugo and together they raised three children. He lived and worked several places such as, the logwoods of California, ranches and sale barns in Arkansas and Oklahoma.

Myrtle Georgia Beasley

Myrtle Georgia Beasley was born May 7, 1920 in Blanco to George F. and Fannie Mae (Gibbins) Creswell. She passed from this life August 15, 2011 in Antlers at the age of 91 years, 3 months, & 8 days. Myrtle lived all her life in Antlers. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed watching her flowers grow, spending time with her family and friends, and loving on her grandkids every chance she got. Myrtle was preceded in death by her first husband Babe C.

Claud Wayne Council

Claud Wayne Council was born November 11, 1932 in Portales, NM to Claud Francis and Rosa Retha (Jordan) Council. He passed from this life July 27, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 78. Claud served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War on USS Hancock, USS Brown, USS Louster, & USS Hornet. On October 1, 1956, he received commendation for his performance on the USS Hornet. Claud married Patricia Smith on March 31, 1958 in Hugo. He lived most of his life in this area and in Odessa, TX.
