August 9th
In July, twelve local 8 year old boys represented Southeast Oklahoma as they competed in the Cal Ripken Regional 8 year old Machine Pitch All Star Baseball Tournament in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The boys played in 6 games that were stretched over the 4 day competition. They finished 5th out of a total of 21 teams. Parents & grandparents in attendance were very proud of the effort & representation displayed on behalf of Southeast Oklahoma.

Twenty-one members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club endured two days of over one-hundred degree heat to compete in their annual noon to noon bass tournament. The tournament began at noon on Saturday, August 4 and ended twenty-four hours later at noon on Sunday, August 05. A weigh-in was held at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night. After weigh-in, members could return to the lake and continue fishing or go home and then return at their leisure to complete the tournament. The stringer weights from both days were added together to determine the contestants final weight for the tournament.
August 3rd
Marlee Williams and Cara Blansett, members of Antlers High School Cheer Squad, were both awarded All-American honors while attending NCA cheer camp. They have both been invited to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade with this honor. Marlee has also been invited to join the NCA staff as an instructor.
The 2012-2013 Antlers High School Cheerleaders attended a NCA camp on Oklahoma State University's campus. They received several awards including superior ratings in chants, cheers, best motions, best tumbling, and excellence in safety and stunting. The 2012-2013 H.S. Cheerleaders are Mallory Langley, Kendie Bryant, Macy Smith, Harlie Williams, Marlee Williams, Mandy Owens, Cara Blansett, Michelle Smith, Katie Pendley, and Kacee Schier. The AHS Squad was also the only squad at camp to have all of their members nominated and try out for NCA All-American Squad.

On Saturday, July 28, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament on Hugo Lake. Anglers had to deal with low water levels in the lake as well as extreme heat. Temperatures soared to over one hundred degrees. These conditions made catching keeper bass a challenge for some although a few anglers were able to catch a limit.
July 19th
On Saturday, July 21st, the Pushmataha County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will hold its annual banquet and fundraiser auction at the Choctaw Nation Community Room in Antlers.
The event is a fun and exciting evening that raises money for the NWTF. Many outdoors related items, such as guns, furniture, home decor and much more, will be auctioned off or given away in raffles.

McGee Creek Bass Tournament
On Saturday, July 14, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament on McGee Creek Lake. Twenty-four members competed in the tournament. The weather for the tournament was hot and humid with clear to partly cloudy skies. Twenty members were able to catch at least one keeper with ten members bringing in a six fish limit.
The Pushmataha County Junior Bassmasters competed in their second qualifying bass tournament of the 2012 season on Saturday, June 30th, at Pine Creek Lake.
One other bass club also fished a tournament on the same day out of the same ramp. So with several boats on the lake for the day, fishing proved to be very difficult for all that fished.
Winning first place in the 11-14 age group was Jake Nabors with one bass that weighed 2.08 lbs. Second place went to Dyllyn Marlow with one bass weighing 1.88 lbs.
The Red River Jr. Golf held it's Championship Tournament on Monday, July 9th at the Paris Country Club. There were 57 young golfers at this event. Some of the player had not qualified for the Championship trophies but received medals if they placed.
The Red River Jr. Golf had 2 Players to receive Scholarships. N'Kele Brown of Valliant, Oklahoma and Zach McEwin of Paris, Texas. These young men have showed good sportsmanship and have been as asset to the program. We wish them all the best.

July 5th
Southeastern has selected Cary Ammons, Natalie (Brown) Cooksey, Charles Gulley and Kent Samuel as the four newest members to be inducted into the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame on August 25.
The foursome will bring the total number of hall of famers to 72 when they are inducted at a banquet to be held at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.
