If you enjoy bass fishing, winning cash, prizes and trophies, then you might want to consider entering in this year’s Big Bass Rodeo. The Pushmataha County Sportsman Club will host the 42nd Annual Big Bass Rodeo on April 20-21, at Pine Creek Lake. This is the oldest, continuous running big bass tournament in the state and quite possibly the nation. This is the club’s only fund raising event.
Megan Buchanan had a cold and windy day to contest with but she finished 1st at the Valliant High School Tournament that was held on April 2nd at the Idabel Country Club. Megan shot a score of 83.
Their next tournament will be the Allen HS Tournament that will be held at Atoka Trails Golf Course in Atoka.
On Thursday March 28, 2013, The Antlers HS Girls Golf team hosted a HS girls golf tournament at Hugo Golf Club. School attending were Antlers, Broken Bow, Haworth, Valliant, Haileyville, Allen, and Coalgate.
First place for individuals went to Megan Buchanan of Antlers with a score of 78; 2nd was April Hughes of Haworth with a 79; and 3rd went to Beyla Skelton of Allen with a 82.
Placing first for overall team score was Allen, with second going to Broken Bow.
Also participating for Antlers HS was Breanna Rosa and Gianna Allensworth!
March 15th
Recently three Antlers Elementary School students participated in the Dallas Mavericks Dancers Dance Camp in Dallas, TX. The girls learned dances which were performed as a camp finale.
Kaden Shetter, 7th Grader at Obuch Middle School won the State weightlifting Championship for his weight class.
Dustin Morehead, 8th Grader at Obuch Middle School was State Runner-Up for State in his weight class.

On a day when schools from around the state where getting prepared for the three day tournament that would decide who would take home the title of State Champion, the Moyers Tigers were making history.
For the first time in the school’s history, the Tigers won a bid to State. Moyers had never before sent a team, boys or girls, but this year the boys broke through.
The Tigers had a large crowd of fans in attendance at the Big House, well over the town’s population, as they took the court at the State Fair Arena on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.
March 4th
The Moyers Tigers are State Bound after defeating the McCurtain Bulldogs 65-55 Saturday night in Kingston. The Tigers claimed the Area Runner Up Trophy after falling to the Red Oak Eagles on Friday night. The Tigers played hard against the Eagles and the score was close through the end of the 3rd quarter. However, the Tigers shooting was cold throughout the game and their efforts fell short with a final score of 53-42.
The Saturday night game was a rematch of the Regional Championship game with the McCurtain Bulldogs.
The Bearcats will move on into a new bracket as they play their first game in Area competition. They boys will take the court in Byng at 3:00 p.m.(Thursday). Good Luck Boys!!
The Rattan Rams clinched a spot in the Area Championship with a win on Saturday, February 23, 2013 against Howe. The game was intense with back to back scoring which kept both teams on their toes but the Rams took the “W” with a final score of 43-34. The Rams will take the court against Oktaha at 3 pm in Wilburton (Thursday, Feb. 28). Good Luck Rams!!!!
February 22nd
The Moyers Tigers defeated the McCurtain Bulldogs in a hard fought battle on Saturday night at the Regional Championships in Ada. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead with hot 3-pt shooting and had the Tigers down by 11 at the end of the first quarter.
But the Tigers clawed their way back to within 3 at the half. The Tigers continued to battle and took the lead by 1 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter belonged to the Tigers with a 65-60 victory over the Bulldogs.
