Course looking good despite dry weather

July 6, 2011

I hope everyone had a good July 4th. I attended the Tea Party Picnic and I must say that the rain that missed us at least cooled things down and we had an enjoyable outing.

We had some pretty good play over the 3 day weekend. In the mornings anyway. Mornings of late have been nice but the afternoons have been miserable. Of course you know that unless you live under a rock.

Thursday Scrambles take hiatus

June 29, 2011

We haven’t had a scramble in over a month due to lack of participation. We have been playing CATS for the last few weeks but last week there were only 3 of us. Until further notice, the Thursday Scrambles are suspended.

If you are a golfer and want to see Wednesday, Thursday or Friday competitions, get in touch with me and we can discuss something. Without community support I cannot continue to groom the course mid week and have no one come out.

Special thanks to the guys who come out on Monday evenings. We’ll keep it groomed for you.

Morning golf recommended

June 15, 2011

I suspected that when summer arrived that it would arrive all of a sudden and with a vengeance. Sure enough it has been almost August like i the weather department here lately.

I recommend playing golf in the morning if a person can. The mornings have been nice. Of course that is when we do most of the course work but I figure we could watch out for each other.

Pine Creek Lake Team Bass Tournament

June 15, 2011

On Saturday, June 11, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a team bass tournament on Pine Creek Lake. The lake is ten feet below normal level due to repair construction being done on the dam. The areas that most anglers usually fish were high and dry which made locating bass difficult for some. However, there were a few that seemed to have no trouble finding some "keeper" bass.

On Thursday the LadyCats had a rough start in the tournament losing to Rattan moving them to...
