George Keeth of Antlers, was born November 14, 1920 and died June 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Keeth and his son Scott Keeth. He is survived by his daughter Karen Kubilik of Denver, CO, daughter-in-law Paula Keeth of Glen Heights, TX, step-daughters, Doris Wren of Antlers, and Jean Briery of Longview, TX. A memorial service were held Saturday, June 22 at Little Cedar Baptist Church in Antlers at 2:00 PM

Antlers left with no water

As of 1 p.m. today, the City of Antlers is without water due to a contractor cutting a waterline.

As of this time, the City has no estimated time for when service will be restored.

Supreme Court Strikes Down DOMA

In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court voted to strike down the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) citing "deprivation of the equal liberty of persons that is protected by the Fifth Amendment." This law specified that for federal purposes, “the word 'marriage' means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife.”

Birchfield to play for Lady Savage Storm

Megan Birchfield, shown here with Southeastern Coach Ron Faubion, will be attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant this fall where she will be playing softball for the Lady Savage Storm.

“I am so excited for the opportunity to continue playing a game I love and to have the chance to compete with such a great team,” Birchfield said.

The Lady Savage Storm finished their season with a #2 National ranking and a record of 45-9.

Antlers graduate helps build first Solar Reflection Plant in India

Wesley Clay, Antlers Class of 1975, took this stunning shot of an 11th Century Temple while in Osan, Rauasthan, India. The Temple has many visitors that pilgrim there to be blessed with prosperity by the gods (33,000 different ones in India), especially for wedding couples.

Pushmataha County, along with much of eastern Oklahoma, has a chance of getting some pretty nasty weather over the weekend and into the first part of next week.
