On Wednesday, June 27, 2012, an injury collision occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. on HWY 271 about .5 miles south of Antlers in Pushmataha County.
A 2008 Mazda Tribute, being driven by Patsy R. Brittingham of Moyers, was traveling north on HWY 271 when the vehicle departed the roadway to the left, struck a small embankment, went airborne and landed on a county road.
Patsy Brittingham, a 69 year old female, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head, trunk internal and external, arm and leg injuries. She was listed in serious condition.
Southeastern has selected Cary Ammons, Natalie (Brown) Cooksey, Charles Gulley and Kent Samuel as the four newest members to be inducted into the Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame on August 25.
The foursome will bring the total number of hall of famers to 72 when they are inducted at a banquet to be held at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.
The 2012 Antlers Spikes Coach Pitch team finishes the season with a winning record taking 2nd place out of 12 teams in the Hugo League. The Red River Jr. Golf held it's 4th golf tournament on Monday, June 25th at Rock Creek Golf Course in Hugo. There were 43 young golfers who participated in this tournament.

Clinton Allen Daniel was born February 11, 1949 in Redding, CA., to Clinton U.V. & Jean (Baker) Daniel. He passed from this life June 21, 2012 at his home in Cloudy at the age of 63. Allen graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1967 and entered the United States Army shortly thereafter. He was assigned to the 16th Army Hospital Division as an E5 during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the NDSM, VCM and USM and was honorably discharged in 1973. Allen then enlisted in the United States Navy in 1975, and served until he was honorably discharged in 1979.
Clyde Eugene Taylor, Jr. was born July 24, 1955 in Antlers to Jimmy (Matthews) Taylor and Clyde Eugene Taylor, Sr. He passed from this life on June 22, 2012 at the age of 56. Clyde had lived in the Antlers area all his life. He married Debbie Andrews on December 2, 1993 in Boswell. He owned and operated the Antlers Vault & Box Company. He had also preconditioned thorough breeds and owned Southeastern Sanitations Systems for many years. He was a VIP member of the â€śbucket club.â€ť He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
On Wednesday, June 20, 2012 supporters, volunteers and local officials gathered together at the Antlers Public Library to help Director Patti Lehman celebrate receiving a very large check, in size and amount, from State FarmÂ®.
The Antlers Farmer's Market is once again open and ready for business. The Farmerâ€™s Market is open for operation every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until Noon. It is located across the street from The Convenience Center in Antlers.
Until the end of August, they are running a special to encourage farmers and gardeners to come out and sell their produce for profit.

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) announced today the results of its annual inspection of tobacco outlets to measure compliance with laws restricting underage tobacco sales. This yearâ€™s compliance rate of 6.8 percent is the lowest ever for the state.
