Following an inspiring pep rally Thursday afternoon at Antlers Elementary, the Antlers Little League Bearcats found themselves pumped up and ready for Saturday morning football. They faced off against the Hugo Buffaloes at Antlers field in a scrimmage against their long time rivals. The 3rd & 4th Grade and 5th & 6th grade teams respectively paired up to battle their opposing teams. It was an event that did not disappoint fans.
The Antlers Bearcats traveled to Wilburton to face the Diggers last Friday night. Although the Bearcats played hard through all four quarters, they fell to the Diggers in the end. The final score was Wilburton 40 - Antlers 18.
The Lady Cats have done it again! They were named District Champs on Tuesday (9/18) at Atoka. They accomplished this spectacular goal by shutting out Atoka in their first game (18 - 0) and by destroying Atoka in the second game 17 - 4. Pictured here are the Lady Cats Fast Pitch Softball Seniors (L to R) Ryley Antu, Sidney Scott, Chelsi Thomas, Jenna Tucker and Stanna Clark. Also pictured one of their biggest fans, Rhett Antu. The proud coaches are Coach Baldwin and Coach Thurman.
The score did not match the heart that these 19 young men played with on Friday night, but in the end the Bearcats were no match for the Valliant Bulldogs. Valliant showed skill and determination but the Bearcats never gave up as they struggled against the Bulldogs defense. Valliant took home the “W” with a final score of 59 - 13.
The Bearcats have a true "brothers in arms" compassion for each other this year and they believe in each other. They never quit, never gave up. This group of young men played as a team.

Contestants fished under cloudy skies with light rain and moderate temperatures for most of the day, which was much more enjoyable than the one hundred plus degree temperatures of the last several bass tournaments.
