10th Annual Deer Festival & Outdoor Show to kick-off Friday

September 29, 2011

The 2011 Deer Festival and Outdoor Show is finally here! All of the planning and preparations are almost complete as the festivities are set to open this Friday, September 30th, and continue on throughout Saturday, October 1st at the Pushmataha County Fair Grounds in Antlers. The community is buzzing with anticipation as this year plans to be even bigger and better than the last. The festival will carry its normal outdoor theme with plenty of events, booths and entertainment to keep the entire family happy.

Festival organizers have expanded the show’s entertainment section and has also had to limit it at the same time. This year guests will experience a greater range of entertainers over the two day festival. Each entertainer will also have no more than two hours on the stage over the two day period, allowing for a wider range of performances.

A new entertainment venture that will be used for the first time this year at the Deer Festival is a Friday night concert by popular gospel recording star, Pam Weston. Weston’s concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30 and will come to a close at 9:00 p.m. While the concert is still going, so will the Festival with vendors asked to stay open and have their booths manned until 9:00 p.m. as well.

Along with new entertainment, attendees will get to expreiance new venders, booths, food options and much more as they spend their time at the festival. A large number of raffles and giveaways will also be available, all for good causes.

While the festival will feature some new things to see, hear and purchase this year, many of the festivals standbys will continue to offer their products, experiences and talents to the festival. So take the opportunity this weekend to stop by and take part in the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the 2011 Deer Festival & Outdoor Show!
