13th Ranked Lady Cats Move Up To 12th in State Rankings

The Antlers Lady Cats traveled to Savanna last Tuesday and lost a heart breaker in the final seconds. The Lady Cats dominated the first half of the game and took a comfortable 10 point lead in at half, 26 to 16. However, the Lady Cats struggled in the second half, scoring only 10 points, to Savanna’s 23 points. The score was tied with 4 seconds remaining in the game and Savanna called a time out right before senior, Megan Brame stole a Savanna pass, which the officials waived off. After the time out, Savanna inbounded the ball and made an NBA 3 point shot with no time remaining to take the game.

The Lady Cat stats were as follows: Chelsi Thomas, 13 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds; Megan Brame, 7 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds; Kendie Bryant, 7 points and 3 rebounds; Meagan Wilbourn, 5 points, 3 rebounds; Cheyanne Simpson, 4 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds The team shot 9 for 14 at the free throw line for 64%.

The Lady Cats faced off against the 18th ranked Atoka Wampus Cats last Thursay to lose another close one in the final seconds. The Lady Cats led most of the game and took a 4 point lead into the locker room, 19 to 15. During the 4th period the Lady Cats led until the final minutes of the game. The bonus fouls were on Atoka’s side, the fouls being 10 to 3 in Atoka’s favor. This would prove to be the difference in the game. With 6 seconds remaining and only 2 points down, the Lady Cat’s, Cheyenne Simpson put up a 3 point shot that went halfway in and rattled out. The Lady Cats had to foul and Atoka hit their free throws, taking the game 40 to 36.

The Lady Cat stats were as follows: Meagan Wilbourn, 13 points and 4 rebounds; Cheyenne Simpson, 7 points, 2 assists and 4 rebounds; Kendie Bryant, 7 points and 1 rebound; Megan Brame, 6 points, 1 assist and 4 rebounds; Chelsi Thomas, 3 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.
The Lady Cats finished a busy week of ball games last Friday against the Tushka Lady Tigers with a wide margined victory. The Lady Cats put the Lady Tiger away 52 to 21. The Lady Cat stats were as follows: Cheyenne Simpson, 14 points, 2 assist and 5 rebounds; Chelsi Thomas, 11 points and 1 rebound; Macy Smith, 8 points, two assists and 3 rebounds; Meagan Wilbourn, 6 points and 4 rebounds; Megan Brame, 4 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds; Emma Branton, 4 points and 3 rebounds; Jalena Arthur, 3 points and 1 rebound; Kendie Bryant, 2 points, 1 assist and 3 rebounds.

The 19th ranked Wilburton Lady Diggers come to Antlers Tuesday for the only game of the week. The Lady Cats beat the Lady Diggers in the season opener.
