Push Fest to Host More than 30 Bands to Play for Three Days on Two Stages
Rumors have been confirmed that the First Annual Pushmataha Music Festival (Push Fest) will be held in the Kiamichi Mountains in Southeastern Oklahoma on October 12th through the 14th with more than 30 bands playing on two stages. This event will take place by Nashoba (about 10 miles away from Clayton).
Putting this event together are Susan and Paul LaVictorie of Oklahoma City. Even though the couple is based in Oklahoma City, they own land in Pushmataha county and travel down here quite often.
â€śWe love Southeastern Oklahoma because of the topography and the remoteness,â€ť Susan LaVictorie, founder of Push Fest said. â€śWe vacationed there for years and then purchased property ten years ago. We love music and we love to throw a party so it only made sense to invite the rest of the region out to have some fun!â€ť
Push Festâ€™s lineup includes popular acts like: Paul Thorn Band, Watermelon Slim, Ian Moore and the Lossy Coils, Kevin Welch, Kate Campbell, The Damn Quails, Uncle Lucius, Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road, Saturday Sirens, Cadillac Jackson, The Giving Tree Band, Black Canyon, Sunny Side Up, Ike Lamb and The Creepers, The Suspects, Dead Weight, Joel Wilson and the Revival and many, many more!
In addition to some big-name bands, Push Fest has lined up some local favorite sponsors in the metro area, including Keep It Local Oklahoma, a program that offers customers discounts to local businesses when they show their Keep It Local card at the register, and COOP Aleworks, a craft beer brewery based in Oklahoma City and the exclusive beer vendor at Push Fest.
â€śThis is a music lover's festival - and a musicians' festival,â€ť LaVictorie said. â€śOur festival is genre-free and offers something for every music lover- a great way to enjoy our weekend festival is to get together a group of friends and come out for a good time. â€ť
Push Fest will use a portion of its proceeds to benefit the county of Pushmataha. Susan and her husband, Paul, plan to make the festival an annual event and to continue contributing to the county that hosts the festival.
â€śOur vision for Push Fest is to grow it to a certain point, then keep it a bit exclusive,â€ť LaVictorie said. â€śWe hope to attract a bit of an older crowd than most of the camping and music festivals you see. Weâ€™re grateful for our sponsors and as the festival grows, we hope to continue to increase our impact in the community for the betterment of the residents of Pushmataha County. And of course, keep having fun.â€ť
Tickets can be purchased online at www.pushfest.com or at the gate. Advanced ticket prices are as follows: 3 day pass (primitive camping and access to both stages) $100.00. One day event pass (access to both stages, NO camping) $50.00. Tickets at the gate will be $125.00 for a 3 day pass and $65.00 for a 1 day pass.
Every person on the festival grounds, including the parking area, vending areas, camping areas and everywhere in between MUST have a valid Event Pass.
On Friday, October 12 - Gates open at 10:00 AM, with music starting at 7:00 PM on both stages. Plan to arrive early, set up your camp and enjoy the evening of music. Saturday, October 13 - Music on both stages beginning at 10:00 AM. Sunday, October 14 - Music on both stages from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. All vehicles must exit the festival grounds by 6:00 PM Sunday evening.
The festival was established by the Pushmataha Music Festival Foundation, or PMFF. PMFF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established to channel a generous portion of the proceeds back into the local community. The PMFF Foundation Board consists of residents of the county. They will help direct the funds toward nonprofit organizations in Pushmataha county.
