Antlers Band Attends District Competition

“The Pride of Antlers” began their Spring Competitions this past Saturday with District Solo and Ensemble Competition in Durant,ok. They traveled to the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University to compete either as individuals or in small groups. “It was a fantastic day”, commented Mr. Potter, “all of our students made either a Superior or an Excellent Rating and I’m very proud of their effort.” In solo completion the students who made an Excellent Rating were Michael Lampton, John Ables, Kali Clark, Elizabeth Guerrant, Lindsey Larue, and Kayla Ward. The students who made a Superior Rating were Travis Petty, Ashley Stillwell, Michael Lampton, Stephanie Melton, Kelsee Schier, and Elizabeth Rowland. Ensembles that made Superiors were the Standridge Trio and the AHS Percussion Ensemble. In total, the group brought home 23 Superior Medals and 20 AHS Band Students will advance on to State Competition in April. The band now prepares for District Band Contest this Wednesday, also in Durant.
