Antlers man bound over to stand trail for sexual abuse charges

Mardieth Neil Farrell, of Antlers, was bound over to stand trial following a Preliminary Hearing in front of Judge Gary Brock last week. At the Hearing, the State was represented by Johnny S. Loard, First Assistant District Attorney and Mark Uptegrove, Assistant District Attorney. The defendant was represented by Allen Malone.

The Judge bound the defendant over on four charges: Count 1 - Sexual Abuse of a child Under 12; Count 2 – Incest; Count 3 – Showing Obscene Material to a Minor; and Count 4 – Child Abuse by Injury. He was also bound over having a prior felony conviction out of the State of Tennessee.

Farrell was originally charged with these felony counts on Friday, February 24, 2012.

The defendant was arraigned on May 10, 2012 and he is set on the July Jury Docket with a Pretrial Hearing set for July 5, 2012. He remains incarcerated pending the posting of bond.
