Johnnie Brines celebrates 100th birthday

Johnnie Brines, or Antlers, celebrated his 100th birthday on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013. Johnnie was born to Luther and Freda Brines in Addington, OK., on October 15, 1913. He has three brothers: Forest, Eddie and Luther; along with three sisters: Nadine, Minnie and Jarata.

Johnnie married Lela Pearl Donaldson on May 15, 1986 in Antlers. They attended the Freewheel Baptist Church together. Lela passed away on January 29, 2005. Lela’s son, Johnnie’s stepson, Ken Donaldson, has taken care of Johnnie since Lela’s death.

Luther Brine, one of Johnnie’s brothers, expressed his thanks to Ken for what he has done for Johnnie for so many years.

Johnnie is known by many as a hard worker. He worked for the Highway Department for many years. He is the type of man who would do anything for you. Johnnie’s hobbies include fishing and he loves to dance.
