Antlers Mayor Resigns

May 4, 2011

As of May 15, 2011 Antlers City Mayor Brent Franks will have officially resigned from the position of Mayor.  Not an act that he wanted to do but due to the fact that he is relocating outside of city limits, state law says that he must resign from the position because all City Council must live inside city limits.

During the meeting Mayor Franks was presented with a plaque and commended for his many years of dedicated work and devotion to the City of Antlers.  He will be greatly missed but will still be around town.

Taking his spot as Antlers City Mayor will be Mike Burrage who was voted into the position by the remaining Council members.  Taking Mike Burrages spot in the "At Large" Council position will be Jack Matthews.
