Antlers MS/JV Football Teams Score Wins Against Valliant

The Antlers Middle School and Junior Varsity football teams traveled to Valliant September 12, 2013. Overall, the teams did well. The 7th grade lost, but the 8th and on Thursday, 9th grades won their respective games.

The 7th Grade played hard, but lost 12-28. The defensive player of the game was #2 LB Kaden Speer with 12 tackles while the offensive player of the game was #21 Andrew Garcia with 6 rushes for 50 yds. TD's were made by #34 Trent Young and #3 Zion Wood. Coach Bliek, 7th grade head coach said “During the 2nd half, they played to potential and have an opportunity to be real good.”

The 8th Grade won their game in a shutout of 26-0. The defensive player of the game was #54 Charlie Scrivner with 6 tackles and 2 sacks, and the offensive player was #84 Travis Harrell with 2 receptions for 37 yds. TD's were made by #35 Hunter Simpson and Kyler Gee, who made two. The two-point conversion was made by Jacob Washington. Coach Schier, 8th grade head coach, said “The kids played hard good to get a shutout victory. Now I have to buy hotdogs.”

The 9th grade won their game scoring 28-14. The defensive player of the game was #76 Dustin Morehead with 8 tackles. The offensive player was #1 Michael Harp with 3 receptions for a total of 70 yds. Coach Watson, 9th grade head coach, said “Great win! Played well defensively!”
