Antlers Schools to hold Native American Show

Antlers Public Schools will have an All School Art Show November 5th through the 9th. The art show will have a Native American theme. The show ill be held in the Rock Brantly Building with viewing from Wed., Nov. 7th until 12:00 noon on Friday, Nov. 9th.

Student art work is due by November 1st, 2012. Judging will take place on the morning of November 6th. A reception for the students will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on November 8th.

Categories will include: drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpting, graphic, weaving, basket, traditional, jewelry, poetry, diorama, dream catchers, multimedia, collage, leather goods and dwellings. Age divisions will include” 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th and 9th-12th. Pre-K and Kindergarten will enter the show but they will not compete. Entries should be turned into the student’s teacher. White paper will be available for paintings and drawings and black paper will be furnished or mounting the artwork.

All works must have a Native American Theme. Projects that don’t depict this theme will not be accepted. Entries will be judged for Authenticity. Students many only enter one item per category.
