April 26, 2012

Jessica Blan (right) recently spent a week serving as a Page in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Representative R.C. Pruett (left) was her sponsor.

Jessica Blan, a student at Antlers High School, served as a page in the Oklahoma House of Representatives during the week of April 16th through April 19th. Blan was sponsored by Representative R. C. Pruett of House District 19.

Students across the state are selected to participate in the House Page Program and spend Monday through Thursday at the State Capitol. During this time they learned about the legislative process, after which they held a mock legislative session. During the mock session, they played the role of lawmakers as they considered sample legislation, debated and voted. The pages also assisted with routine tasks during the week.

Representative Pruett stated Jessica did a great job and he was proud to have her represent his district.
