Assault on a minor lands one in jail

February 1, 2013

Antlers Police Department’s Officer Stewart Stanfield responded to a call from the Garden Walk Apartments in Antlers after a neighbor reported hearing children crying, yelling and items being thrown in a neighboring apartment.

According to reports, Officer Stanfield arrived at the apartment complex just in time to see an adult female screaming for help while running with a baby carriage with a small child inside, and trying to hold onto two female children who were crying. The female was identified as Shelia Knox.

Knox told Stanfield that Annalynn Taylor (Alias) was highly intoxicated and was in her apartment. She also stated that Taylor, who did not live with her but was a guest, had had too much to drink. Knox went on to say that Taylor had assaulted her and one of the minor children and was destroying her apartment.

The minor child told officers that Taylor had hit her really hard on the tops on both of her hands. She went on to stay that it hurt a lot because of all of the rings she was wearing.

Officer Stanfield went to Knox apartment and announced who he was three times. Upon the third, Taylor opened the door. Stanfield reported that he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person. Taylor was also unable to maintain her balance while talking to the officer she fell and pulled a bookshelf down with her.

Taylor was advised she was under arrest for disturbing the peace, assault and battery and public intoxication. Taylor was then transported to Pushmataha county jail.
