McGee Creek Bass Tournament
On Saturday, July 14, members of the Pushmataha County Sportsman Club held a bass tournament on McGee Creek Lake. Twenty-four members competed in the tournament. The weather for the tournament was hot and humid with clear to partly cloudy skies. Twenty members were able to catch at least one keeper with ten members bringing in a six fish limit.
Billy Latham won the tournament with a six fish limit that weighed 9.42 pounds. Bradley Mills finished in second place with a stringer weight of 9.14 pounds. Bradley also had the big fish of the tournament with a bass that weighed 6.60 pounds. Dennis Willeford came in third with a stringer weight of 8.23 pounds.
The clubâs next bass tournament will be on July 28. It will be held on Hugo Lake. The tournament was originally scheduled to use Frazier Point boat ramp as the launch site. Due to the extreme low water level in the lake, Frazier Point is not usable at this time. The club will use boat ramp one in Kiamichi Park as the launch site for the tournament. Fishing times for the tournament will be from âsafe lightâ until 3:30 p.m.View more articles in:
