Bearcats take home Consolation at CNIT

On December 6th, 7th and 8th, the Bearcats traveled to Talihina to participate in the Choctaw Nation Invitational Tournament.

The first round of play we were set to play Central, who would prove to be a team to beat as they would go on to play Rattan in the Championship round. Central won against the Bearcats with a final score of 58-59.

In the Second Round of play they were matched with the Wister Wildcats and with a 63-55 victory for the Bearcats, they advanced into the 3rd Round of play for Consolation.

In the third round the Bearcats would end up being paired with the Sallisaw Diamonds. Sallisaw started off strong with the tip-off and scoring the first points, but again the Bearcats came ready to play. With a 56-29 victory over the Sallisaw Diamonds, the Bearcats won the Consolation prize in the tournament. Making the Choctaw Nation Invitational Tournament All-Tournament Team was Sr. Bryce Martin and Jr. Tanner Brown.

Leaders in stats for the tournament were: Sr. Bryce Martin 53 points, 17 rebounds, and 5 assists; Jr. Tanner Brown 38 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 assists; Sr. Harlan House 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists; Sr. Caleb Smith 23 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists; and Sr. Arizona Taylor 7 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists.
