Betty Ann Brown

Betty Ann Brown was born May 15, 1949 in Roswell, NM, to Chester Cecil and Margaret (Owens) Standridge. She passed from this life on Monday, May 16, 2011 in Broken Bow at the age of 62. Betty married Charles Lester Brown on December 31, 1965 in Battiest at the Battiest Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and very dedicated to her Lord and family. Betty was a member of the One Creek Valley Church in Finley. It was there that she was very active in the children’s church ministry and would cook for them on Wednesday nights before church. She also founded the nursing home ministry and played the tambourine for the worship team. Betty always encouraged her family to put God first and then family over anything else. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Cecil and Margaret Standridge. She is survived by her husband of forty-five years, Charles L. Brown of the home; two children, Charlie Brown and wife, Wendy of Broken Bow, Donna Riley and husband, Bear of Broken Bow; eleven siblings, Hazel Taylor and husband, Bud of NC., John Standridge and wife, Ruth Ellen of Broken Bow, George Standridge and wife, Linda of Antlers, Leon Standridge and wife, Rosene of Antlers, Lorene Thompson and husband, Clarence of Antlers, Donald Standridge and wife, Janet of Antlers, Elizabeth Babcock and husband, Nicky of Sawyer, Dorothy Standridge of Antlers, Joe Standridge and wife, Lynette of Antlers, Nancy Chumley and husband, Jamie of Antlers, Hebo Standridge and wife, Ann of Antlers; nine grandchildren, Clayton, Lexia, Bailey, Donald “Duck”, Jaxy, Logan, Tyler, Taylor and Lacey; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011 at One Creek Valley Church in Finley with Donnie Day officiating.
