Bobby Joe Bridges was born November 12, 1929 in Kiowa to William Leo and Vera (Youngblood) Bridges. He passed from this life July 5, 2011 in Tulsa at the age of 81. Bobby served his county in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Melissa Storey September 9, 1953 in Oklahoma City. Bobby was a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed race cars, especially drag racing and going to the bar to have a few drinks and visits with his friends and grandkids. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife: Nadine Bridges; a daughter: Helen Bridges; four great grandchildren; parents: William & Vera Bridges; and a brother: J.W. â€śDubâ€ť Bridges. He is survived by his children: Lola Hill, Betty Smith, Barbara Dillishaw, Cleo Cody and David Bridges; 25 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister: Lola Milton; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Mills & Coffey Chapel in Antlers with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating and Delmar Coffelt presenting Reflections. Musical selections included: "Shall We Gather At the River" and "Grandpa" performed by Shelly Carter. Pallbearers included: Robert Hill, Walter Hill, Steven Smith, Micheal Smith, Shannon Crow and Justin Brown. Honorary pallbearers included: David Bridges, Bobby Bridges and Scooter Cody.
