Buchanan Overtook in Sudden Death

April 14, 2011

The Antlers Bearcats Boys Golf Team takes home 3rd place in tournament at Hugo Golf Club.

On Monday, April 11, 2011 the Antlers Boys Golf Team participated in a Tournament at the Hugo Golf Club in Hugo against a large variety of different schools. Some of the schools included: Haileyville, Atoka, Pittsburg, Tushka, Hugo, Valliant, Allen and Haworth.

Overall the boys took home 3rd place in Team Totals being beaten out by Valliant, who got 1st, and Allen who took second. Coming in just behind Antlers was Haworth.

Individual golfer scores had Antlers very own Treg Buchanan tied with Zac Harbor from Hugo at the end of the 18 holes with a stroke count of 74. But Treg lost it on the first hole of the sudden death playoff! Going head to head this could have ended up with either golfer as the winner as both show extreme poise and skill at a young age.

Treg has placed in every tournament that the team has played in this year. He took 6th place at Haworth, 7th at Valliant, 1st at Broken Bow and 2nd at Antlers.

The Boy's next tournament will be at Atoka on Monday, April 18, 2011. Good luck guys!
