Buchanan Takes First at Antlers Tournament

The Antlers Girls Golf Team takes 3rd at their tournament on April 6th.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2011 the Antlers High School Girls Golf Team hosted a golf tournament at the Antlers Springs Golf Course just outside of Antlers. Schools from around the area traveled to take part in this event. Some of the schools attending included Haworth, Valliant, Broken Bow, Allen, Pittsburg, Coalgate and Antlers.

Megan Buchanan, of Antlers, showed the girls how it was done as she took first place in individual play with a total of 90. Megan has placed in every tournament that Antlers has competed in this year: 7th at Haworth, 3rd at Broken Bow, 6th at Valliant, and now a 1st place win on their home course.

It was a good day for the Antlers girls all around as the team took home a 3rd place overall win. The Antlers Girls Golf Team includes Megan Buchanan, Kaci Hokett, Hanna Maple and Breanna Rosa. The girls are coached by their proud and patient leader, Coach Mark Rosa.

The top four teams at the tournament were, taking first place, Haworth, in second was Allen, in third, Antlers and coming in 4th was Valliant. Individual standings had Megan in first, April Hughes from Haworth in second with 94, Kelsey Eddy from Allen in third with 94 and Beyla Skelton from Allen in fourth with 99.
