Chester John Maynard

Chester John “Check” Maynard was born March 9, 1931 in Antlers, to Robert John and Eunice Marie (Kellett) Maynard. He passed from this life, surrounded by his family, Saturday, June 15, 2013, in Antlers, at the age of 82. Check was born and raised in the Antlers area, and lived here all his life. He married Ruth Parker on July 7, 1954, in Wichita Falls, TX. Check worked as a diesel mechanic for many years and then owned & operated a dump truck service. He attended the Round-Up Cowboy Church and liked to read, travel the backroads, watching the birds and wildlife, & hunting. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Chester was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Eunice (Kellett) Maynard; siblings: Leon (Bud) Maynard, Loyd Vernon Maynard, & Ima Jean McCollough. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Parker Maynard of the home; Children: Darrell Maynard & companion Sandy McClain of Antlers, Gerald Maynard & wife Judy of Centerpoint, Debra Dolloff & husband Robert of Denver City, TX, Pam Grammer & husband Mark of Antlers, Beth Carter & husband Boyd of Finley, Stephanie Miller & husband Terry Dean of Finley, Sam Maynard & wife Janet of Tupelo, and Tammy Lewis & husband Tommy of Antlers; Grandchildren: Stephanie Plew, Chassity Merimon, Danielle Maynard, Clinton John Maynard, Jeremi Clay Maynard, Chris Louis, Bobby Dolloff, Scott Dolloff, Tiffany Lambert, Crystal Grammer, Natalie Standridge, Morgan Grammer, Regina Carter, Jessica Carter, Kelley Carter, Forrest John Cave, Shane Miller, Michelle Noel, Taryn Miller, Colton Maynard, Trac John “TJ” Maynard, Joseph Maynard, Ryan Lewis, Chad Lewis, and Cory Lewis; Great Grandchildren: Josh Cravins, McKayla Galle, Laney Galle, Emmjay Galle, Railey & Bailey Coleman, Jack Merimon, Dallas Marsh, Michael Dolloff, Troy Dolloff, Damen Dolloff, Stelvin Dolloff, Randon Lance, Lexi Lance, Jonathan Louis, Hanna Louis, Cadee Louis, Harley Dolloff, Sydnee Coffey, Hayden Maynard, Alexis Gotcher, Ashley Elichelberger, Cooper Standridge, Caden Landreth, Avery Floyd, Justis Childers, Login Noel, Lyndi Noel, Neely Noel, Nate Noel, Traysn Miller, Jaci Miller, Kane Miller, and Eli Maynard; Too soon to arrive: Kamberlee Childers & Anslee Maynard; Great Great Grandchildren: Adalynn Rose Lance and too soon to arrive Layker Clay; Brothers: Robert (Butch) Maynard of Moyers and William (Billy) Maynard of Centerpoint; Sisters: Janie Nichols of Antlers and Mary Sue Fairless of Antlers; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Antlers First Baptist Church with Eulogy by Terry Williams, Memories by Clint Maynard & Anita Parker, and Message brought by Pastor Jonathan Hooker. Music is “Daddy’s Hands” by David & Loretta Roberts and Tammy Evans, “Wings of a Snow White Dove”, & “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by David & Loretta Roberts and Tammy Evans. Pallbearers are Grandsons – Clint Maynard, Jeremi Maynard, Christopher Louis, Forrest John Cave, Colton Maynard, T.J. Maynard, & Joseph Maynard with Honorary Pallbearers as Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren, Robert Dolloff, Mark Grammer, Boyd Carter, Terry Dean Miller, Tommy Lewis, & Josh Cravins. Interment will follow at Antlers City Cemetery. Family and friends may send online condolences at www.millscoffey.com.
