Children’s Theatre Auditions to be held

February 8, 2013

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is back once again and is ready to start holding auditions for the 2013 production of “The Secret Garden.” Missoula will cast 50-60 students from the community. Students will audition and then practice from 2-4 hours each night that week, depending on their part in the play. Their will be 2 performances on February 22nd, one for the school and one for the public at 6:30 p.m. Students from kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to audition and there is no cost involved. Parents will need to provide snacks and supper for their child.

Our community has hosted Missoula Children’s Theatre many times in the past and the kids and parents have always loved the program. This is a rare opportunity for your child to develop and strengthen leadership skills, to gain self-confidence and more. There will be members of the Pushmataha County Coalition present each night with your child. If your child gets a part in the play it is imperative that you commit to the rehearsals and programs on Friday.

Your student can audition for the performance on Monday, February 18th at 4:00 p.m. in the Antlers High School Auditorium. If you have any questions or would like more information please contact Melissa Humphrey or Wendy DeWitt at 580-298-6624.

Among the roles to be cast are Mary Lennox, Martha Sowerby, Dickson Sowerby, Susan Sowerby, Colin Craven, Archibald Craven, Ayah/Bilge Rat/Captain, Mrs. Medlock, Dr. Craven, Ben Weatherstaff, Robin Redbreast, The Bugs that Rock, the Canadian Geese, the Moor Folk, the Fireflies and the Secret Garden.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 4:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. each day.

All students are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.

That's a great program for children's overall development. Great for extra activities.
