Collision claims life in Push. Co.

A collision that occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday, January 22, 2012 3.4 miles north of Antlers on HWY 271 claimed the life of Richard Williams, a 47 year old male from Antlers.

Williams was traveling northbound on HWY 271 on a 2008 Chevy, when he entered a right curve, the vehicle departed the roadway to the left and made impact with a culvert embankment, causing the vehicle to go airborne and overturn 1 full time before coming to rest.

The cause of the collision, and the condition of the driver at the time of the collision, are still under investigation at this time. Willams was transported to the Mills-Coffey Funeral Home in Antlers. Williams had fatal injuries to the head.

This collision was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Standridge, #928 of the McCurtain County Detachment and was assisted by the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office and Antlers P.D.
