Collision results in head injury

A personal injury collision resulted in a Rattan woman being flown to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa with head injuries on Sunday night.

Shelly Cook, 46 year old female of Rattan, was driving a 2000 Ford northbound on HWY 93 when she rain off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected and ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck the ground and overturned 3/4 times and came to rest on the driver’s side.

Officers stated in their report that the cause of the collision was driving while under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and the driver’s ability was impaired due to drinking.

Cook was transported to Pushmataha County Hospital in antlers and then was transported by Eagle Med to St. John’s in Tulsa. She is listed in stable condition.

The wreck took place around 10:00 p.m., 5 miles north of Hugo on HWY 93 in Pushmataha County. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

The collision was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Blades, #209 of the Pushmataha County Detachment.
