Once again it is time for the Pushmataha County Free Fair. The fair will take place from Wednesday, September 14th until Saturday, September 17th. Indoor entries will be accepted Wednesday, September 14, 2011 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until closing at 6:00 p.m.
On Thursday, September 15, 2011 all baked goods and fresh flower arrangements must be entered by 9:00 a.m. and then the Exhibit building will be closed until after the judging is completed.
All livestock must be entered by 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 15.
On Thursday night, September 15, the goat show will take start at 4:00 p.m. Following the completion of the goat show, the Best Dressed Animal Contest will start at 7:00 p.m. Following the best dressed contest will be the Stick horse Barrel Races at 7:30 p.m. After the races the Kids Roping will begin. Belt buckles will be given in the Kidâ€™s Roping to the winners of their age groups.
On Friday, September 16, the Livestock Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. for 4-H and FFA members. Judging of rabbits and poultry will start at 4:30 p.m. and on Friday night the cattle, sheep and swine show will take place.
On Saturday, September 17, is the Fair Play Day with entries beginning at 7:00 p.m. The events will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Cowboy Church Round Up Arena located behind the McCraw Oil Company in Antlers. There are some new rules however. No entries will be taken after the playday begins, exhibitor must ride the same horse in every event to qualify for all around, no exhibitions, and the all around winners will be based on event times.
Belt buckles will be awarded to the All Around Winners. Come on out and enjoy the Fair!!!
Also on Thursday and Friday there will be some fun jump houses set up from Inflatable Fun Rentals.
This year the OHCE Ladies will be serving Taco Salads, Beans, Chili, Nachos and homemade pies, along with breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings.
