County hit hard by Cleon

December 11, 2013

In the aftermath of winter storm Cleon, residents and workers in Pushmataha County are working diligently to get our community as close to back to normal as possible.

Trees and power lines throughout the area were snapped under the weight of the ice that accumulated on them during the storm. Residents began loosing power as early as Thursday night and some still are without power at this time. Power crews are still working around the clock to get them restored.

As the ice begins to melt, pops and snaps can still be heard throughout the area as limbs and lines that were being held in place by ice finally let go. A word of warning to residents and people traveling though: Look up and pay close attention to what you drive and walk underneath. Even if it doesn’t look like it is going to fall, it still can. Please use extreme caution.

More reports on damage will be reported when local agencies are available.
