Major changes have occurred at Pushmataha over the last year. The Board of Director’s have taken drastic actions to insure that Pushmataha County continues to have a local hospital to serve its citizens. Operationally, new values were developed along with a financial budget process. Performance Improvement Plans were developed for each department and a Code of Conduct for all employees was established. The hospital successfully transitioned to become part of the Voluntary Hospital of America group (VHA) giving the organization better buying power for supplies and equipment. Expenses in supplies have decreased by 10% as a result of VHA status. Contracts were signed with Docucoders to assure accurate documentation and coding and the facility can receive maximum reimbursement and meet new ICD10 regulatory requirements.
