Cub Scouts to Honor Used Flags with Retirement Ceremony

June 22, 2011

The Northern Star District Cub Scouts will perform a Retirement Ceremony during their camp in July. Pre-Paid Legal donated their previous flag to them for this exercise. Pictured are Jennifer Mickel of Pre-Paid Legal and Pamela Massengal, Scout Leader.

On Friday, June 10, 2011 Pamela Massengale went to Pre-Paid Legal LLC., to pick up a donation they were making of a flag which needed to be retired.

The Northern Star District Cub Scouts will soon be participating in their Cub Scout Day Camp (the second weekend in July) and part of the festivities will be the yearly ceremony to put to rest all flags that needed to be retired. This will take place on July 8, 2011 at dusk at the Historic Ft. Towson Fort and is open to the public.

Any businesses, groups, organizations or individuals who have flags that need to be retired may drop them off at Sharpe’s Department Store in Antlers. If you have any questions or would like more information please contact the Northern Star District Cub Scout Leader Pamela Massengale at 580-298-7191.
