Delores Jean Rember

Delores “Dee” Jean Rember was born May 2, 1942 in Atoka to Elgin Elmore and Flossie Mae (Pool) King. She passed from this life July 20, 2011 in Sherman, TX., at the age of 69. Dee married Frank Rember June 17, 1961 in Antlers. She lived in this area her entire life except from 1961 to 1976 when she was Frank’s navy wife. She enjoyed socializing on Facebook, playing bingo and, in her earlier years, playing basketball. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family. Dee was preceded in death by her father: Elgin King; brother: Freddie King; grandmothers: Alice Gabbart and Elizabeth (Ivy) King; grandfathers: Fred “Pappa” Gabbart, Arthur Pool, and William King. She is survived by her mother: Flossie King of Antlers; husband: Frank of the home; children: Bill Rember & wife Karla of Stillwater, Dewy Rember & wife Amy of Atoka, and Doug Rember & wife Ramona of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren: Ashleigh of Westerly, RI, Brandon of Leesburg, VA, Zachary of Fairfax, VA, Bailey of Leesburg, VA, Andrew of Stillwater, Victoria of Stillwater, Blake of Atoka, Sydney of Atoka, Mattie of Atoka; brothers: Douglas King of Farris, Thomas King of Elmore City, Terry King of Calera, and Jerry King of Hartshorne; sisters: Linda Martin of Midland, TX, Tonya Hoskins of Roswell, NM, Alice Campbell of Calera and Vickie Yerta of Clayton; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Antlers First Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Childers officiating. Musical selections included: “I Did It My Way,” “Sissy’s Song,” “Peace in the Valley” and “Island in the Stream.” Pallbearers included: Ken Rember, Blake Rember, Andy Rember, Will Rember, Perry Eskue, Chris Eskue, Brent Rucker and John Duncan. Honorary pallbearers were: Al Eskue, Ronnie Hammons, Donnie Hammons, Johnny Mack Smith, Jerry Nored, Marion Akins and Pete Puckett. Interment followed at the Jumbo Cemetery in Jumbo.
