From the desk of the Editor: Under Construction

October 3, 2012

I would like to take this time to introduce myself and thank our readers for your loyalty and the support you have given us over the years.

As you may have already noticed, The Antlers American has been undergoing some changes over the last few weeks. We plan on continuing this trend and striving towards making this publication a newspaper that our community and our staff can be proud of.

However, this is an impossible task to complete without your participation.

We will be bringing back our “Letter to the Editor” section, recruiting student journalists from our area schools, adding new and exciting contests and promotions, and filling our pages with the news YOU want to read.

You may be asking yourself, “How does she know what I want to read?” Well, this is where you come in. I will know what you want by listening to our readers. I invite you to submit your photos, letters, stories, news tips, recipes, organization and club updates, press releases and whatever else you have.

We understand that it isn’t possible to please everyone all the time but, we are going to give it our best shot.

Some of the things you can look forward to in the next few months are: The First Annual Big Buck Contest, Halloween How-to’s, Christmas Spirit ‘Best Dressed Business and Jolliest Joe’ Contests and so much more!

We are also requesting that you send us your favorite venison and other wild game recipes! Why? Well you are just going to have to participate and wait to see!

Again, thank you for your loyalty and the continued support you have shown us over the years. As we look to the future, we will usher in a brand new era and strive to do our very best to serve you, our customers!

Please feel free to contact me at anytime by calling 580-298-3314, stopping by the office located at 110 East Main Street in Antlers or sending a fax to 580-298-3316 or email me @
