Dovie Elizabeth Dees

Dovie Elizabeth Dees was born August 18, 1929 in Rattan to Jonathan Thomas and Rolen (Connally) Fleming. She passed from this life on November 1, 2011 in Tuttle, at the age of 82. Dovie was raised in Rattan & attended Rattan Schools into her senior year where she was part of the Ramblers basketball team. In 1947, she met a handsome young man, James Wallace Dees. They were married on December 18, 1947. They lived in California until 1960 when they moved to Oklahoma City where Dovie was a Medical Records Technician at Presbyterian Hospital until her retirement. She & Wallace enjoyed 62 wonderful years together before he left this earth on April 15, 2010. Since that day, Dovie has looked forward to the day they would once again hold hands & be together for eternity. Dovie was preceded in death by her husband: James Wallace Dees; parents: Jonathan & Rolen Fleming; brothers: James Clifton Fleming, Clyde Thomas Fleming, Cecil Loy Fleming; sisters: Nellie Florance Westmoreland, Johnnie Marie Bush, Mary Ellen Duncan, & Aubie Lynn Moore. She is survived by her sons: Bruce Dees & wife Joyce of Bridge Creek, Allen Dees & wife Joyce of Oklahoma City and Michael Dees of Starbuck, WA; daughter-in-law: Carol Dees of Washington, OK; grandchildren: Traci Upchurch of Bridge Creek, Barry Dees of Oklahoma City, Alisha Sams of Chandler, Darren Dees of Severn, MD, Nicholas Dees of Idabel, and Jessica Savage of Navarre, FL; brother: Curtis Allen Fleming of Rattan; sister: Virginia Jo Frazier of Rattan; sixteen great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Rattan First Baptist Church in Rattan with Reverend Timothy Marr officiating. Musical selections were Led By Gary Jennings and included “I’ll Fly Away,” “When We All Get To Heaven,” “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder,” “Victory In Jesus” and “I’ll Meet You In The Morning.” Pallbearers were Barry Dees, Darren Dees, Nicholas Dees, Curtis Duncan, Keith Edmond and Jeff Lucas. Honorary Pallbearers included Jeremy Dees and Wayne Goolsby. Interment followed at the Rattan Cemetery in Rattan. Family and friends may send online condolences at www.millscoffey.com.
