Drug dogs visit school

March 21, 2013

Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Deputy Polly Culver with her partner K-9 Deputy Athena, and Deputy Shawn Culver with his partner K-9 Deputy Reiko were excited when they got to visit Ms. Parks 1st Grade class at Antlers Elementary.

Ms. Parks had contacted Deputy Polly Culver with the news that her class had earned a reward and they had asked if the drug dog could come visit them at school.

On March 12th, the Deputies and their K-9 Deputy partners went and visited with the class. The Deputies showed the class the difference between the two drug dogs and how they alerted the officers to let them know when they smelled the odor of a drug.

The children also were allowed to love on K-9 Deputy Athena and received stickers and coloring books.
