F.B. Gregg

F.B. Gregg was born April 15, 1924 in Pushmataha County to Thomas M. and Lilly (Gideon) Gregg. He passed from this life June 3, 2012 in New Bern, NC, at the age of 88. F.B. married Betty Jo Ridgway on September 4, 1948. Together, they raised three children and remained married for almost 56 years until her passing in 2004. F.B. & Betty were members of First Baptist Church in Aransas Pass, TX., where they resided for over forty years. He attended Warden Grove F.W.B. Church in Lowland, NC., since moving to that area. F.B. enjoyed fishing and gardening and he loved spending time with his family and friends. F.B. was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Gregg; and a daughter: Cheryl Creech. He is survived by his son: Howard Gregg of Houston, TX.; daughter: Vicki Williamson & husband Phil of Lowland, NC.; four grandchildren: Libby Fogg of Charlotte, NC., Farrah Greenwood & husband Zack of Houston, TX., Jarod Williamson & wife Kimberly of Raleigh, NC., and London Schmidt & husband Scott of Oak Island, NC.; three great-grandchildren: Nicole, Ryen, & Boston Greenwood; as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Mills & Coffey Chapel with Reverend Phillip Brummett officiating. Music included: "Beulah Land", "Where The Roses Never Fade", & "Precious Memories" at the graveside. Pallbearers included: Terry Gregg, Greg Vaughan, Lee Vaughan, Tim Gregg, Kenny Spear, Tyler Spear, and Richard Sorrels. Interment followed at Antlers City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wardens Grove Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Nancy Leary, 2940 Lowland Rd., Lowland, NC 28552.
